Making Split Surrounds for Bows (DIY Template) - Step-by-Step

Step 1. Align end of ribbon at the bottom of wrapping template with long end of the ribbon going over the top.

Step 2. Wrap around template 1.5 times. Check wrap and cut away long ribbon length.

Step 3. Pinch and hold fold at the top of the template and slide ribbon off template while maintaining hold.

Step 4. Pinch crease mark in ribbon and cut loop. Seal cut ends of the ribbon by moving ends side to side 1/8; away from base of flame.

Step 5. Hold crease mark on center point point and lock ribbon in place. Repeat until all ribbon is locked - see flat view.

Step 6. Before proceeding practice aligning and placing end of ribbon in its quad spot - see illustration.

Step 7. Dot quad spot with glue and quickly bond end of ribbon in place. Repeat on all ends.

Step 8. Optional roll reverse loops until all loops are balanced as shown in illustration B.

Step 9. If you are not applying rhinestones, slide surrounds off template.
